ADVICE: Warning Following An Increase In Vehicle And Property Breaks In Newport And Monmouthshire
Officers in Newport and Monmouthshire are asking residents to be extra vigilant following an increased number of reports of dwelling burglaries and thefts from unsecure vehicles.
This morning, a 27 year old woman from the Abergavenny area was charged with two counts of burglary and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
She will be appearing in court this morning.
Residents and motorists are advised to check the security of their home, outbuildings and vehicles and to keep windows and doors locked at all times.
A crime can happen in seconds, please don’t make it easy for thieves by leaving tempting valuables on display.
Officers are carrying out patrols and house to house enquiries in the areas affected.
