Five Cars Seized And Three Arrests After A Road Policing Operation In Abergavenny.
On Saturday 24th September 2016 a roads policing operation took place across Abergavenny town centre.
Crews from across Gwent joined forces to tackle illegal drivers and bring action upon them.
The results:
· 5 vehicles were seized.
· 1 driver was arrested for getting behind the wheel whilst disqualified and having no insurance.
· 1 driver was arrested for dangerous driving, no insurance and driving whilst disqualified.
· 1 driver was arrested for drug driving and having no insurance.
· Two drivers were reported for no insurance and no driving licence.
· 1 warning was given to a motorcyclist on the A40.
Local Inspector Arwel Hicks said: ‘These results prove there are many out there who continue to flout the laws and we will continue to work hard to bring justice upon offenders and make our roads safer.
Further operations are now scheduled to take place over the forthcoming months to ensure the message is getting out there – we will not tolerate anti-social/illegal drivers on our roads.
