Five Men Sentenced for Conspiracy to Steal Motor Cars

These men have just been sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court for the part they played in a conspiracy to steal motor cars. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Stephen Probert received 6 years imprisonment, Evan Beman received 3 years, Cameron Davies received 2 years, Daniel James received 20 months and Donald Anstey received 12 months behind bars. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The conspiracy took place between November 2011 and November 2012 and involved the gang stealing cars – including some from Motorpoint in Newport – and selling them on, as well as duping car buyers into handing over cash and never delivering the car they were promised. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“These individuals had no regard for anyone else apart from themselves and as a result of their criminality caused innocent people to lose their life savings. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
