Lead/ Copper Thefts – Torfaen Schools

Officers in Torfaen are appealing for information following lead/copper being stolen from three schools in the area. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

During the early hours of 1st November 2016 copper was stolen from Croesyceiliog Comprehensive School. (log 432 01/11/16) ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Over the weekend of 5th and 6th November 2016 lead was stolen from Henllys Church in Wales School. (log 54 7/11/16) ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

On 31st December 2016 lead was stolen from West Monmouth Comprehensive School. (log 61 03/01/17) ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The combined cost for repair of the roofs and damage caused totals £86,000 to date. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
