Public Misconduct Hearing Outcome – Monday 15th – Friday 18th March 2016

The Gwent Police Misconduct Hearing for Police Constable Cooper concluded on Friday 18th March. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

PC Cooper appeared in relation to five allegations of Gross Misconduct with regard to his conduct of an interview with a suspect in 2014 and information he gave to the Crown Prosecution Service and the Court about the interview and the investigation in 2014 and 2015. These allegations amount to breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour in relation to Honesty & Integrity and Discreditable Conduct. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

All five allegations were proven as Gross Misconduct and the officer was dismissed without notice. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
