Thieves Target Vehicles In Caerphilly Area
Officers in Caerphilly are asking residents to be extra vigilant following an increased number of reports of thefts from unattended vehicles during the last week.
High value cars and work vans seem to be the most commonly targeted.
Overnight 2-3 May incidents were reported on:
Cae Nant Gledyr, Sword Hill
Blaen Ifor, Penyrheol
Pentrebane Street, Caerphilly
Van Court, Caerphilly Business Park
Rhyd Y Gwern Close, Porset
Overnight 5 – 6 May incidents were reported on:
Long Heath Close
Cae Pen-Y-Graig, Energlyn
Nantgarw Road
The Crescent, Bedwas
Crime and Disorder Reduction Officer for the area, PC Stuart Lewis said: “I urge motorists in the area to ensure that whenever they leave their vehicle unattended it is secure and no items are left on view. A crime can happen in seconds, please don’t make it easy for thieves by leaving tempting valuables on display.
“Officers are carrying out patrols and house to house enquiries in the areas affected. Anyone with information relating to these incidents is asked to call 101.”
