Three Possible Suspects Identified Following An Appeal For A Serious Assault On Commercial Street, Newport

Last month, we appealed for information following a serious assault along Commercial Street in Newport. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The offence occurred sometime between 7:40pm and 8:10pm on Thursday 16th February 2017. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

A man was violently assaulted and was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries following the incident. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Three males were arrested on suspicion of Affray relating to this offence and are currently on police bail until 06/04/17. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

However, officers were keen to trace a further three males, who were also captured on CCTV. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Following the appeal many of you came forward and as a result three suspects have been identified and enquiries are on-going. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
