Torfaen Off Roading/ Grass Fire Prevention Operation
Over the weekend Torfaen officers were working with South Wales Fire and Rescue Service to patrol mountainous and rural areas targeting off-road biking and to prevent grass fires.
A number of bikes were seen in the area but unfortunately officers were unable to identify the riders.
The officers involved have a message for one rider, PC Matthew Jones said: “If the rider of the off road bike who made off from us by the Goose and Cuckoo pub would like his helmet back, it has been booked into Cwmbran Police Station property store and will be waiting for him, along with a fixed penalty for driving with no insurance and not wearing a helmet.”
Officers will continue these patrols to deal with and deter offenders and to keep these beautiful areas safe for members of the public.
