Two homes targeted on Rectory Road, Swfrydd
We’re appealing for information following a distraction burglary that took place at an address on in Rectory Road, Swfrydd, near to Hafodyrynys on the evening of Friday 23rd September 2016 (Log 478 23/09/16)
At approximately 8pm, the occupant of the address, a woman in her sixties, answered the door to an unknown man. At this time, officers believe a second man entered the property through a rear window.
The occupant was unharmed but shaken and later realised that an amount of cash and jewellery had been stolen from his home.
It appears at around the same time as this distraction burglary, a second burglary has taken place at another house on Rectory Road, Swfrydd where a set of car/house keys were stolen (Log 50 25/09/16)
The following night (Saturday 24th September 2016) after 11pm the offenders have returned and stolen the victim’s car – a grey, Ford C Max from the garage.
The car was later found damaged and abandoned at 1am on Sunday 25th September 2016 on the A472 Hafodyrynys to Pontypool Road.
