Update: Incident On Nelson Road, Ystrad Mynach, Near To Ystrad Mynach Train Station

At approximately 5.45pm on Tuesday 3rd May 2016, Gwent Police responded to a call for assistance from the South Wales Ambulance Service, to an address in Nelson Road, Ystrad Mynach, near to Ystrad Mynach Train Station. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

On arrival, officers discovered the body of a woman, who can now be named as 75 year old Iris Owens from the Ystrad Mynach area. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

A 47 year old local man is currently in police custody – after a warrant of further detention was applied for at Newport Magistrates Court yesterday. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
