UPDATE: Single Vehicle Road Traffic Collision On The Mountain Road Near To The Mountain Ash Inn, Abertysswg On 9th February 2016

Officers investigating a road traffic collision which occurred on Tuesday 9th February 2016 can confirm that the 25 year old female passenger, Carla Jones, sadly passed away on Sunday 27th March 2016. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Her family are being supported by family liaison officers at this difficult time. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The collision happened at approximately 10am on Tuesday 9th February and involved a brown Citroen Picasso. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The driver, a 48 year old man from the Abertwssyg area was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and is now recovering. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Officers continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen the vehicle immediately before the collision or the collision to ring 101 quoting log: 94 09/02/16 ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
