Update! Six Charged Following Disorder In Pill, Newport.
Following the recent disorder in Pill in Newport on Thursday 20th October 2016 the following charges have been made:
A 24 year old male has been charged with violent disorder and has been remanded to appear before court this morning (22nd October 2016).
A 13 year old male has been charged with violent disorder and has been bailed to appear before court on 22th November 2016.
A 16 year old male has been charged with violent disorder and has been bailed to appear before court on 22th November 2016.
A 13 year old male has been charged with violent disorder and has been bailed to appear before court on 22th November 2016.
A 17 year old female has been charged breaching a Dispersal Order and has been has been bailed to appear before court on 01th November 2016.
A 20 year male has been charged with breaching a Dispersal Order and has been has been bailed to appear before court on 8th November 2016.
A Dispersal Order will remain in place this weekend and extra patrols will take place across Newport to reassure residents and prevent further disorder.
Local Policing Commander Glyn Fernquest said: “These results show our zero tolerance approach to this completely unacceptable behaviour. We are taking this incident extremely seriously and will bring justice upon those involved. The six charges made send a clear warning to anyone intent on causing trouble. We will find you. We will arrest you and you will go before the courts and suffer the consequences. Think about what this will mean for you. We are still reviewing CCTV footage to identify others involved. I’d also like to urge any members of the public with footage or information of the incident contact us.”
