Block of Three Flats Proposed Behind Caldicot Barber’s Salon
A BLOCK of three flats could replace existing commercial buildings behind a barber’s salon.
Plans have been put forward to demolish a number of vacant buildings at the rear of the Ugon Hair Clinic at 84 Newport Road, Caldicot.
Applicant Ugur Ulker has asked Monmouthshire County Council for planning permission to demolish the existing commerical buildings and replace them with one building providing three flats.
Information submitted with the application states the buildings either have, or had, A1 permission for retail use but they are “old and not in good condition”.
It is intended to replace them with a building that will be divided into two one bedroom flats and another two bedroom flat with car parking also provided.
The application is being considered by the planning department and members of the public have until Friday, March 6 to comment on the proposals.
