Deadline Set for Election Request to Fill Community Council Vacancy

news.wales / newyddion.cymru

A DEADLINE has been set to request an election to fill a vacancy on a community council.
For an election to be held to Grosmont Community Council at least 10 electors will have to make a request to Paul Matthews, the chief executive of Monmouthshire County Council, who is the returning officer.
The deadline for doing so is Wednesday, August 19.
If the number of requests isn’t met councillors will be able to appoint a new councillor by co-opting them on to volunteer council that makes representations on matters of local interest including planning applications, awards grants to local groups and manages a community hub.  ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
