Former Kings Hotel in Newport City Centre Could See Addition of Six New Flats

A former hotel in Newport city centre could be redeveloped further with the addition of six new flats.
The Kings Hotel, on High Street, closed down in 2012 after two centuries of trading and was later converted for residential and office use.
Now known as the Kings Chambers, the building could be in line for more change, according to plans submitted to the city council by applicant Redi 94 Ltd.
Those plans show how parts of the ground and first floors could be revamped to add six new homes, replacing offices that are currently vacant.
Five of the flats proposed for the ground floor would each have two bedrooms, while the other on the first floor would be one-bedroom.
