In the event of adverse weather across our County Borough over the next few days, our Streetcare teams have been busy preparing.
Council officers are well prepared. Staff are monitoring the situation and should the anticipated inclement weather occur, will work around the clock to ensure that any disruption to Council services is kept to a minimum.
All relevant Council resources are on stand-by and, if needed, all available staff will be called to assist. Our ‘grit bins’ have been filled and gritting vehicles are all set to be deployed when needed to ensure that access to main roads and bus routes are kept as clear as possible.
Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, Cllr Andrew Morgan, with responsibility for Highways and Emergency Planning, said: “As always during inclement weather, our teams will be working hard to try and ensure that main carriageways remain clear of any snow and are treated in case of ice.
“We are all well aware of how unpredictable the weather in Rhondda Cynon Taf can be, but staff are doing all in their power to prepare the county borough for any adverse weather which may be coming our way.
“In the event of any adverse weather, we would advise residents and visitors to be extra careful and only undertake journeys that are absolutely necessary.”

All headteachers are advised to post any closure details direct to the Council website if they decide to close their school for any reason, details can be viewed here – School Closures
