Investment In Public Conveniences In Pontypridd
There is no reason to be “caught short” in Pontypridd as the Council has invested over £45,000 in its town centre public conveniences.
The new Public Conveniences are situated in the Bus Station, Pontypridd and will provide users with an improved facility, which includes new baby changing facilities, new toilet bowls and seats, new wash basins, hand drier and vanity area.
The new facility is available Monday and Saturday 9 am to 5 pm – Tuesday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm and is regularly inspected by the Council’s Streetcare team to ensure it is maintained appropriately.
Over the last few years there has been an increase in anti-social behaviour and abuse of public conveniences and the Council urges residents to report any incidents so that they can be dealt with immediately. The new facility has been fitted with vandal proof materials that have been moulded together in a bid to minimise any future issues.
Cabinet Member for Environment, Leisure and Culture, Cllr Ann Crimmings, said: “The improved facilities will provide an invaluable service to residents and visitors alike. As a Council we are committed to investing in key priorities and recognise what our residents see as important, this latest investment is testament to this.
“It is hoped that the new facility will be used for many years to come and that the local community look after the area and I would urge anyone who witnesses any incidents of vandalism or inappropriate behaviour to report the issue so that those selfish individuals can be dealt with.”
The Council currently provides a high number of free public conveniences in various locations across the County Borough as well as Automatic Public Convenience.
