Supporting Our High Streets
‘Fab Fun’ for all the family in Aberdare this weekend (Saturday, September 24), as the Council joins forces with local traders to stage the Faberdare event.
There will be fun for all the family in and around the town centre from 10am until 4pm.
With FREE parking in the town centre from 10am, attractions include a funfair in Canon Street.
There will also be street entertainment provided by local community groups, as well as a Birds of Prey display, face painting, a craft market and much more.
The event is being organised by the Aberdare Business and Tourism Association, in conjunction with Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Deputy Leader, Cllr Maureen Webber, Council Cabinet Member for Council Business, said; “Aberdare is a town centre with a great history – only recently it attracted thousands of visitors to the town for the Tour of Britain.
“The Faberdare event will allow us to showcase our town centre and celebrate the valuable contribution local traders make to the Welsh economy as well as the vital role they play in the everyday lives of so many people.
“Our high streets across Rhondda Cynon Taf have a lot to offer to communities and visitors, which is why we continue to provide a wide variety of events in our town centres in a bid to help boost the local economy.
“The Council is also currently supporting its town centres by providing free parking at all Council car parks from September 19-25, from 10am daily, as well as continuing to invest in its towns, as well as major highways improvements, as part of its three-year, £200m RCTinvest programme.”
The ‘Faberdare’ event in Aberdare town centre takes place from 10am until 4pm on Saturday, September 24.
