Call For Volunteers For Community Clear Up In Pontypool Town

The Friends of Pontypool Town are calling for volunteers to help with a community clean up on Friday 4 November between 9am and 1pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Activity will focus on the green space between Osbourne Road and Riverside Car Park which has been a focal point for antisocial behaviour. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The group is asking for traders in the town or local residents to give up some time to come and help out. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Cerys Hopkins from Curves on Osbourne Road has organised the clear up. She said: “The area between Osbourne Road and Riverside Car Park attracts antisocial behaviour and we want to come together as a community to say that we will no longer tolerate this on our door steps. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“If anyone can give up a little of their time to help us clear this area up, and make it a clean green space in the town, it would be really appreciated by the whole community.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Volunteers should meet outside Osbourne Lodge Nursery and equipment will be provided. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
