Former Mayor Raises Over £11,000 For Charity
Former Mayor, councillor Mandy Owen raised more than £11,000 for charity during her mayoral year 2014/15.
Fundraising activities such as a film screening, charity evenings, and music concert was organised to help raise money for her chosen charities.
This week, Councillor Owen was able to present a cheque for £3765.61 to each of the charities, which were Tenovus Cancer Care, St David’s Hospice Care and TOGS.
Councillor Owen commented: ‘My year as Mayor was a very busy one but great fun; I got to meet some wonderful people and am so pleased to have raised, what I think, is a significant amount for my charities which they really deserve. Thank you to everyone who supported me as Mayor and to those who put on charity events for me, it was a pleasure.’
