Get Ready For The Cwmbran Big Event This Weekend
The fifth annual Cwmbran Big Event takes place this weekend (Saturday 11 June) at Cwmbran Boating Lake from 12pm-5pm.
The event includes sporting competitions, craft and food stalls, and a wide variety of music and dance acts, headlined by the Voice’s Tobias Robertson.
There will be rides and activities for small children, Greenmeadow Community Farm animals, paddle boats, a climbing wall, and for the first time there will also be a laser tag arena.
Dog lovers are encouraged to bring their pets along to enter into the dog show at 2pm.
You can also visit Llanyrafon manor where there will be a craft market to browse or enjoy a coffee and a delicious piece of cake in the tea rooms which are now run by Elm Tree Foods. There will be games available for children and picnic blankets for the family.
Parking will be available at Llanyrafon school just a short walk from the boating lake itself. Visitors are also encouraged to walk or cycle to the event if possible, and cycle parking is available on site.
Recycling facilities are also available, and visitors will able to recycle most of their waste, including glass bottles, cans, paper, plastic and cardboard, on-site.
More than 10,000 people attended last year’s event and most activities are free, and designed to be fun for the whole family.
The Cwmbran Big Event is funded by Torfaen council, Cwmbran Community Council, Henllys Community Council, Llanyrafon and Croesyceiliog Community Council.
It is sponsored by Torfaen Leisure Trust, Owen’s Catering, Rubin, Lewis, O’Brian solicitors, Everett, Tomlin, Lloyd and Pratt solicitors, Sidoli’s, and Torfaen Business Voice.
