Support Our Young Runners

Cwmbran Parkrun started in June this year and has been a great success, attracting over 200 people every Saturday morning at 9am. It’s a free, timed, 5k run/jog/walk aimed at all abilities. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

There’s a lot of interest in establishing a junior parkrun. Junior events are 2k and held every Sunday. It’s aimed at children aged 4 and 14. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

To establish a junior event organisers need a core team of volunteers. This is a fantastic opportunity to really make a difference and encourage our young people to become more active. They’ll make new friends and enjoy the park. It’s great fun and rewarding. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
