Time To Revisit Pontypool
A series of promotional films have been released showcasing some of Pontypool’s hidden gems.
Focussing on quirky shopping opportunities, the town’s heritage, Pontypool Park and the sporting activities on offer, the films aim to encourage people to rediscover Pontypool.
They form part of a wider social media campaign by Torfaen council that will run over the next month.
Councillor Lewis Jones, executive member for regeneration, said: “With many people now shopping at supermarkets, outlets, or online, there is a perception that Pontypool no longer has anything to offer, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
“We have traders selling everything from quality fresh food, to sporting goods, antiques and collectables, as well as lots of high-quality convenient services such as florists, tailors, accountants, watch makers and beauticians. We also have a county museum, a fantastic park, a leisure centre and even our own ski slope and Victorian shell grotto – not many places can say that!
“We hope that these videos will reconnect people with their town, and allow them to rediscover the hidden gems on their doorstep.”
The videos can be seen at www.youtube.com/torfaencouncil or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/torfaencouncil
The videos were funded through Welsh Government’s Vibrant and Viable Places Programme which aims to improve the vibrancy and vitality of town centres.
