Torfaen’s A Level Results
In Torfaen 98.5% of pupils gained A*- E A-level grades, compared to 98.1% last year. This is above the Wales average of 97.3%.
The percentage of pupils gaining A*/A grades decreased slightly to 20.6% from 21.0% last year. This is below the Wales average of 22.7%.
At AS Level, the percentage of pupils gaining A-E grades has decreased to 84.2% this year from 86.6% last year. This is below the Wales average of 88.3%.
Cllr David Yeowell, executive member for Education said: ‘It is pleasing that 98.5% of our pupils gained at least one A* to E grade which is above the Welsh average and these results represent the hard work of our pupils, staff and governing bodies.
‘We will continue to work closely with our schools to ensure every pupil is supported effectively from their first day to their last in school. We are committed to building on and improving these results in the years ahead.’
