World Heritage Parade To Celebrate Towns Past And Present

World Heritage Day organisers have met with local school children to plan this year’s parade. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Blaenavon Heritage School council met with organisers and agreed the theme, ‘Blaenavon past and present’, celebrating the town’s industrial past, but also what makes the town unique today. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

World Heritage Day takes place on Saturday 25 June and as well as the parade there will be a fun fair, a miniature steam railway, live music, craft stalls and the shops in town will also be getting involved with special offers. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
