Lifesaving 100th Birthday Donation
A Pembrokeshire woman has made a lifesaving donation to a welsh helicopter charity to celebrate her 100th birthday.
Gwendoline Hood, Narberth, asked for donations to Wales Air Ambulance in lieu of presents for her milestone birthday.
Gwendoline’s friends and family made kind donations, helping her to raise over £100 for the welsh helicopter charity.
Tony Key, Wales Air Ambulance Pembrokeshire Community Coordinator, said: “We are very honoured that Gwendoline would think of us on her big day.
“She has been a keen supporter of WAA for many years, and would like to say a huge thank you to her for her amazing support.
“Her donation will help us fund our missions all over Wales.”
This isn’t the first time the 100-year-old has raised funds for the charity. Gwendoline previously also donated to Wales Air Ambulance on her 90th and 95th birthday.
Gwendoline presented her donation of £184.46 to Tony Key on Friday April 22.
Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise £6 million every to funds its missions across Wales, with each mission costing roughly £1,500.
Tony Key said: “We are incredibly touched that on her 100th birthday Gwendoline gave a gift to Wales, by helping us to run our services across the country.”
