A Llangollen man is taking on the Chirk triathlon to help fund lifesaving helicopter missions across Wales.
Mike Edwards will be swimming 400 metres, cycling 23km and running 5km to fundraise for Wales Air Ambulance, helping the charity to raise the funds needed to run its services.
Mike will take part in the Chirk Triathlon on April 17, starting the sporting challenge with 16 lengths of the Chirk Leisure centre pool.
The Llangollen gentleman began triathlon training following a heart attack five years ago, and since then he regularly cycles in the Wrexham and Llangollen area.
The keen cyclist takes part in regular mountain bike trials, and is now taking on the triathlon challenge in aid of Wales Air Ambulance.
Alyson Winn, WAA Community Coordinator, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Mike for taking part in the triathlon in aid of us.
“By fundraising for us, Mike is helping us to come to the aid of people across Wales and helping us to fund our lifesaving missions.”
