The latest production form Theatr Bara Caws is on its way to Theatr Felinfach on Thursday 12 May 2016. The show combines music, parodies and impersonations, with the odd satirical comment on the Welsh rock scene. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

‘Out of Tune’ is a one man show by one of Wales’s best mimics – Emyr ‘Himyrs’ Roberts – capturing perfectly his story from being a troubled 6th form pupil. ‘Out of tune’ with his surroundings he establishes the iconic pop group, Y Ficar, enabling him to realise his dream of finding his voice and making it as a professional performer. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

While he was at school Emyr hankered about being a musician and performer but was persuaded by teachers at Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen, Caernarfon to follow an academic career and he went to university and became an engineer. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Rhian Dafydd from Theatr Felinfach said: “It’s definitely a show not to be missed and will definitely make you laugh.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

After graduating Emyr worked as an engineer for Gwynedd Council and established the popular band Y Ficar. The highlight of the band’s career was being named best band for 1982 at the ‘Sgrech’ Awards Ceremony and playing to an audience of around 1,500 people. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Touring with ‘Out of Tune’ is a live band which includes two of Emyr’s sons – Aled Emyr and Ifan Emyr. The third member of the band is Carwyn Rhys. The production is directed by Bara Caws’ artistic director, Betsan Llwyd. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Out of Tune / Allan o Diwn is currently on tour and will perform at Theatr Felinfach on Thursday 12 May at 7:30pm. The tour will finish at the National Eisteddfod in Abergavenny.
