On Saturday, 7 May Theatr Felinfach will welcome Ysgol Theatr Maldwyn to perform MELA, a musical drama about the problems faced by young people and the way adults often try to interfere negatively in their lives. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

With only three performances of MELA being performed across Wales, the cast and crew will present their show at Theatr Felinfach for one night only this May. The show – which was created by Linda Gittins, Derec Williams and Penri Roberts – looks at how adults find fault in young people and put obstacles in their way, as the youngsters try to improve their circumstances. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Rhian Dafydd from Theatr Felinfach said: “Ysgol Theatr Maldwyn’s aims and objectives are very similar to Theatr Felinfach, which is to give young people the opportunity to learn and gain confidence in theatre skills. This is a moving and emotional musical drama, which is performed to a high standard by the cast.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cwmni Theatr Maldwyn and later Ysgol Theatr Maldwyn and Theatr Felinfach have worked closely together for over a quarter of a century. Ysgol Theatr Maldwyn was established in September 2004, in order to give young people opportunities to learn and develop theatre skills through the medium of the Welsh language. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The show will start at 7.30pm on Saturday 7 May, with tickets £10 for adult, £9 to Theatr Felinfach Friends / pensioners, and £8 young people and students. To book, please call the Box Office on 01570 470697 or go online www.theatrfelinfach.wales or visit Facebook /TheatrFelinfach or Twitter @TheatrFelinfach. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
