Get a Taste for Local Food at the Food Tourism Event

Local businesses are being encouraged to sign up for a free event to raise awareness of the fantastic opportunities there are to buy and source local food in Denbighshire.
The event, which is being facilitated by Denbighshire County Council on March 9, will highlight the wide range of excellent local food and drink producers that can supply businesses in the County.
Star of BBC Wales’s The Hill Farm, farmer Gareth Wyn Jones will be presenting at the event.
Colin Loughlin is also speaking at the event about the successes of the ‘Hamper’ food festival in Llangollen. The Hamper food event has become a major feature of the food festival calendar in Wales. He will be promoting and talking about the produce available in the Dee Valley area.
Chairman of the ‘Clywdian Range Food Trail’ David Jones, will speak at the meeting about the food trail and how important it has been to the businesses who have signed up.
AONB Senior Countryside Officer, David Shiel will focus on how they have worked in collaboration with the Clwydian Range Food Trail and the farmers and workers involved with it. David has worked on the ‘Protected Landscapes’ project which involves working on producing grass varieties to encourage fantastic tasting lamb. The lamb produced from this project is currently sold in the Tweedmill complex in St Asaph.
There will be 3 networking opportunities during the day: as the delegates arrive, over refreshments and then over a lunch which is produced locally and is free.
