Appeal Following Serious Collision Near Pwllheli

Two people were taken to hospital last night (Wednesday, August 10th) with serious injuries following a road traffic collision on the A499 near Pwllheli. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Police were called at 10:15pm to a report of a two-vehicle collision between a Ford Transit minibus and a Saab. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The emergency services attended and the female driver of the minibus and the male driver of the car were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd by ambulance with serious injuries. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The road was closed whilst the initial investigation was underway and recovery was requested for both vehicles. The road later re-opened at around 3am this morning. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number U119466. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
