Continued Appeal To Trace Missing Woman

Posters have been distributed in an effort to trace a woman who has been missing from her Caernarfon home since Friday 1st April. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

57-year-old Avril Whitfield is described as being white, between 5ft 5 and 5ft 6 and of slight build with ginger/red hair worn in a bob. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The posters have been distributed in and around the Caernarfon area in a further bid to trace Avril. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Police enquiries have revealed a possible sighting of Avril walking next to the roundabout on the A487 near Tesco, Caernarfon at about 9am on April 1st. She was wearing a three-quarter length black coat with the hood up. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Chief Inspector Richie Green said: “Investigations continue to try and trace Avril, and anybody who may have information is asked to contact us. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“We are becoming increasingly concerned for her whereabouts and are urging anybody who knows of her whereabouts to contact us immediately. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Equally we are appealing direct to Avril to make contact with us to let us know that she is safe and well.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Police enquiries are ongoing and anybody with information is asked to contact North Wales Police on 101, quoting reference number 15235. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
