Deganwy House Fire – Update

Shortly after 7.45am this morning, Tuesday 16th August 2016 emergency services attended the report of a house fire in Gannock Park West, Deganwy. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service evacuated an elderly couple from the house but sadly they died at the scene. Next of kin have been informed. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The fire was quickly brought under control but emergency services will remain on location whilst a full joint investigation is undertaken to establish the cause. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Inspector Kelly Isaacs at Llandudno Police Station said “North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended the report of a house fire in Gannock Park West Deganwy this morning and despite their rapid deployment they were sadly unable to prevent the deaths of the two elderly occupants. Our thoughts are with their family at this difficult time.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
