Detectives Investigate Denbigh Robbery

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at McColl’s convenience store, Rhyl Road, Denbigh yesterday evening, Tuesday 25th October 2016. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Detective Sergeant Sarah Jones who is leading the investigation said; “At about 8.40pm yesterday evening, Tuesday 25th October 2016 police were notified that a robbery had just taken place at McColl’s convenience store, Rhyl Road, Denbigh. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“The male shop assistant was alone when two males entered the store and demanded the contents of the till. One offender was brandishing a hammer and a lock knife, the other was carrying a hammer. They made off with cash from the till.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The males, are described as follows: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Male one – white, approximately 5’10”, thin build, aged between 18-25 years old. He was wearing black trousers, black gloves, black balaclava, and a black sweatshirt with large white motif on front. He was carrying a wooden hammer with metal head and a lock knife. He left the store with a red and black shoulder bag. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Male two – white approximately 5’11” aged mid-twenties to early thirties. He was wearing black trousers, black gloves, black balaclava, and a black jacket with white zip on front. He was carrying a yellow handled hammer with metal head and a black and grey bag shoulder bag. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Detective Sergeant Sarah Jones added; “Both males were seen to run out of the store and head left towards the roundabout. Fortunately the shop assistant was not injured. but the incident has clearly shaken him” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area of last night’s incident and saw any suspicious activity or knows anything about this crime to contact police immediately.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
