Drugs Crackdown Caernarfon
North Wales Police’s pursuit of those who supply and possess controlled drugs in Gwynedd continued this week when local police executed two Misuse of Drugs Act search warrants in Northgate Street, Caernarfon and seized a quantity of what is believed to be Class A controlled drugs.
Detective Sergeant Andy Davies of the Priority Crime Team said: “Following the execution of a search warrant at an address in Northgate Street Caernarfon on Monday 15th August 4 local men were arrested, one for possession with intent to supply Class A Controlled drugs and the others for theft. Three were charged with theft and will appear before a local court soon whilst another was bailed whilst experts examined the recovered drugs. Earlier today, Friday 19th August a further Misuse of Drugs Act search took place at another address in Northgate Street and two men were arrested for drugs related offences. Substances believed to be controlled drugs were also recovered from the address and following interview both men have been bailed whilst we complete our enquiries. All those arrested are local men and aged between 35 and 50.”
“Possession and distribution of controlled drugs will not be tolerated in our local communities and we will continue to take positive, robust action where necessary. However we can’t tackle this problem alone and key to all our work, and that of our partners, is intelligence and I cannot emphasise enough the importance of the community sharing their concerns with us.
“In line with the force’s Operation Scorpion we are fully committed to the investigation of serious and organised crime and eradicating it from our communities and I’d reiterate that anyone with information regarding the production and supply of controlled drugs or anyone they believe is involved in organised crime contact North Wales Police.”
