Fatal Collision In Wrexham

A man has died following a road traffic collision in Wrexham yesterday afternoon (Thursday, September 15th). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

At approximately 3pm a collision occurred on Newbridge Road between a motorcycle and a stationary car. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The emergency services were called and the motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital in Stoke by the Air Ambulance. Sadly he has since died. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Nobody else was injured during the collision. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The road was immediately closed and re-opened shortly after 7pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Sergeant Jane Thomas of the Roads Policing Unit said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or to anybody who may have seen the motorcycle being ridden prior to the collision to contact us.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
