Fatal Collision Near Pwllheli: Continued Appeal
North Wales Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision near Pwllheli yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, July 20th).
A woman, aged in her 90’s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and two other women were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor with serious, but not life threatening injuries.
Police received a call at 15:45 regarding a two-vehicle collision on the A499 at Y Ffôr involving a silver coloured Volkswagen Polo and a white Ford Transit.
Sergeant Jason Diamond of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Sadly the female front seat passenger of the Polo was pronounced dead at the scene and both the driver and back seat passenger were taken to hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ford Transit was uninjured.
“I am renewing our appeal for any witnesses to come forward. Anybody who was travelling along the A499 at around the time of the collision is asked to contact us.”
The road was immediately closed and diversions were put in place. It was re-opened shortly after 8pm.

North Wales Police are not yet in a position to release details of the deceased.
