Fatal Collision On The A55, Llanfairfechan

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the A55 last night (Wednesday, August 17th). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

At 7:15pm officers were notified of a two-vehicle collision which occurred in a layby situated on the eastbound carriageway of the A55 at Llanfairfechan involving a lorry and a Nissan Micra. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The emergency services were called to the scene and the road was immediately closed with traffic being diverted through Llanfairfechan. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Sadly, the male driver of the Nissan Micra was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was injured. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The road was re-opened shortly after 11pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
