Helping Children To Stay Safe On Line
North Wales Police have teamed up with IT group CGI and Science Made Simple to promote a new film encouraging children and young people to take measures to stay safe on line.
The Cyber Made Simple “dynamic illustration” will be launched at the Eisteddfod Yr Urdd in Flint on Tuesday between 2.30pm and 3.30pm at a stall set up to promote cyber security during the event.
DS Peter Jarvis, who heads the Cyber Crime team at North Wales Police is urging as many people as possible who are visiting the Eisteddfod to check out their stand.
He said; “We know from experience criminals target children and young people on line, so we need to drive the key safety messages home to parents and children.
“This new production is specifically designed to reach young people and points out the need for precautions such as password security, protecting your identity, not letting strangers get hold of your personal details and how it is our own responsibility to stay safe on line.
“I would encourage anyone attending the eisteddfod to find some time to visit us.”
