IPCC & Force Welcome Decrease In Complaints Against North Wales Police
DCI Dan Tipton, Deputy Head of Professional Standards, North Wales Police said
“North Wales Police welcome the news from the IPCC’s published statistics which illustrates a reduction in the number of complaints and appeals made by the public. It is hoped that both the ongoing promotion of the code of ethics in addition to the wider use of body worn cameras has had a positive impact in North Wales.”
“Local variance in complaint handling across England and Wales, as the IPCC suggests, is partly attributable to the complex nature of the current system. It is hoped that changes that are expected in the Police and Crime Bill will address many of these issues. North Wales Police will continue to work with colleagues in other force areas and with the IPCC to improve the handling of complaints and to maintain a consistent response.”
