North Wales Police Are Investigating Allegations

Police are investigating allegations of naming the complainant following the Ched Evans court case. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Detective Chief Inspector Jason Devonport is leading the investigation after the complainant has once again been named on social media. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

He said: “North Wales Police are investigating allegations under Section 5 of the sexual offences act, where any individual found committing these offences will be investigated and brought to justice.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“People should be reminded that the complainant has the right to life long anonymity.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
