Police on Ynys Môn conducted an operation yesterday (Thursday 10th November) targeting a number of individuals wanted on wanted or for questioning in relation to criminal offences or breaches of Courts Orders. PC Pete Grant from Llangefni Police Station who coordinated the action said “The operation commenced at 7am and it was late into the evening when the last arrest was made. In total 5 people from across the region were arrested for offences involving drug possession, shoplifting, breach of court orders and those wanted on warrant for failing to appear in court. Following the days actions one person was placed before the court, two were charged and one received a caution. As well the arrests made a great deal of information was also provided to officers by members of the community which will assist us in locating other suspects in the coming weeks.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Inspector Jason Higgins district Inspector for Ynys Môn said. “It’s hugely important offenders pay for their crimes and those who either fail to comply with orders or to attend Court will be vigorously pursued so we can bring a degree of justice and reassurance to the victims and communities in which they live. Not only are these individuals wasting Court time or deliberately ignoring orders they are also potentially committing further offences. One of our most important roles is to protect the most vulnerable in our communities and so we specifically targeted those wanted for the most serious offences. I would also like to thank those in the community who assisted by providing information and I can assure them further action will follow.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“We are determined to keep north Wales a safe place to live, work and visit and in order to do so it’s likely these operations will continue. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
