Police Investigate South Gwynedd Burglaries

North Wales Police are asking communities in Gwynedd south to remain alert and report suspicious behaviour immediately after a spate of crimes were reported recently. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Sometime overnight between Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th July 5 crime occurrences were reported in the Dinas Mawddwy and Llanaber areas of Gwynedd south which Police believe are linked. An attempt theft of a quad bike and tools took place in Dinas Mawddwy whilst there was a theft of a tipper truck and diesel and power tools from two locations in Llanaber. A quad bike was also stolen from a farm in Dolgellau and a generator stolen from a layby on the A494 in Rhydyman. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Sergeant Neil Jones at Pwllheli Police Station said “Investigating Officers are eager to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour or activity. Initial enquiries point towards the suspicious behaviour of the occupants of a silver Vauxhall Zephyr and white Ford Fiesta which were seen in the area. Clearly we’d like to hear from anyone who also saw these vehicles or indeed anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour to contact Police immediately” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Initial enquiries identify the offences occurred overnight and that offenders will have used vehicles to aide their crime so any suspicious vehicle sightings may help progress our investigation so if you know something please phone in. It is worth reminding all house holders to be vigilant at all times, always ensure your property is locked and secured and if you see any suspicious behaviour contact police immediately.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
