Police Re-Iterate Their #Fatal5 Message

Motorists are being reminded of the dangers of drink and drug driving following several arrests across the region over the last few days. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Between Friday November 11th and Monday November 14th, officers from the Roads Policing Unit have made ten arrests in relation to driving under the influence. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Several individuals have been released on police bail pending further enquiries and others have been charged to appear before the courts. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The arrests were carried out in the Bangor, Llandegai, Queensferry, Wrexham, Mochdre, Trefnant, Llangefni and Bagillt areas. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Sergeant Trystan Bevan from the North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit said: “It is disappointing that a small minority of people are still intent on ignoring our warnings. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“We have a robust strategy around enforcing the Fatal 5 offences which includes drink and drug driving. We are shortly due to launch or annual Christmas Anti Drink and Drug Drive Campaign and anyone who is considering driving whilst under the influence should know that we will be out and about waiting for them. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
