Recruitment Drive In South Gwynedd
Do you live in South Gwynedd? Are you interested in joining North Wales Police?
North Wales Police are running a recruitment campaign to specifically target people living in the South Gwynedd area.
And depending on the success of the campaign an initial training course may be held in Dolgellau.
Gwynedd South Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeant Iwan Lloyd Jones explained: “Many people living within the South Gwynedd area can be put off from joining the Police owing to the fact that they would have to travel to St Asaph daily for a 6 month period – this for some, could mean a 2 hour journey each way!”
“By running a course in Dolgellau, it is hoped that that there will be a greater interest and uptake.”
In a bid to promote the idea officers will be running recruitment awareness sessions over the next month at various locations listed in the attached timetable.
Chief Inspector Richie Green said: “This is an opportunity to speak first-hand to officers to find out about the vital role they provide in helping to keep North Wales a safer place to work, live and visit.”
He added: “We are really keen to encourage local people to get involved with policing their local community.
