Three Sentenced For Drugs Offences In West Conwy

Three men from the West Conwy area were sentenced last week for drugs related offences ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Carl Ian Hughes, 41, was jailed for three and a half years after he was convicted of possessing cocaine with intent to supply. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

19-year-old Shane Robert Paton was given a four year custodial sentence while 23-year-old Conor Andrew Williams received a 21 month suspended sentence after a large quantity of Class A and Class B drugs were seized. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The men were arrested after separate warrants were conducted earlier this year, under the misuse of drugs act, at addresses in Llandudno and Glan Conwy. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

District Inspector Kelly Isaacs said: “These warrants were executed as a result of information received from the public. It is vitally important we listen to concerns from our local communities and take positive action.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Drugs cause untold damage and devastation to people’s lives and to their families. I hope these results send out a clear message that we will not tolerate the actions of anyone who chooses to be involved in this type of criminality.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
