Warning Issued Regarding Dangerous Site In Denbigh
A warning is being issued to would-be trespassers not to enter the site of the former North Wales Hospital in Denbigh after part of its roof collapsed last weekend.
Whilst on foot patrol in the area last Saturday (September 18th), two PCSO’s witnessed a roof collapse.
Sergeant Neil Stringfellow from the local policing team said: “We had two PCSO’s on foot patrol around the site as we’d had reports of people trespassing. As they walked past one of the buildings the roof collapsed on its own, right in front of them.
“We are urging people not to trespass onto the site which is clearly unstable. We know that there is a lot of interest in the site; however, potentially people are risking serious injury or even death. Please keep away from the area.”
Officers are in contact with the Health and Safety Executive and Denbighshire County Council.
