Caerphilly County Borough Council Celebrates A Year Of Webcasting
Caerphilly County Borough Council has been webcasting full council meetings live for 12 months. The serviced launched to allow those who were unable to attend meetings to view discussions and decisions made online.
Since launching in 2015 the webcasting service has received 2267 views, the majority of these are individuals watching a meeting after it has ended. The online system stores all previous meetings for residents to watch at their convenience.
Cllr. Barbara Jones, Deputy Leader & Cabinet Member for Corporate services said: “Webcasting is an important step forward for Caerphilly County Borough Council. Giving residents the ability to view full meetings of council live, or at their convenience once a meeting has ended, gives even more people the chance to see local democracy in action. It opens up the process to those who are otherwise unable to attend and I would encourage residents to take a look at our webcasting website.”
