A community challenge which saw staff from Tesco Ystrad Mynach and officers from Caerphilly Fire Station take on a gruelling charity row has raised over £400 for the Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s charity appeal. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Tesco staff and officers from Caerphilly Fire Station together completed the 115km rowing challenge in the Tesco Ystrad Mynach store last weekend (Saturday 30th April and Sunday 1st May) to raise money for the Mayor’s chosen charities, Ty Hafan and Macmillan Cancer Support. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cllr Leon Gardiner said, “I would like to say a very big thank you to the staff at Tesco in Ystrad Mynach and customers, as well as the team at Caerphilly Fire Station for their support in taking on this challenge for my charity appeal. I have been overwhelmed by the support I’ve received over the last year and the amount raised for my chosen charities is now over £16,000. Thank you very much indeed to everyone involved”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
