Dylan trailed a short distance behind his rivals in the mascot race with his fire well and truly extinguished. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

A weekend of running-related activities are taking place in the city as part of the Cardiff Half Marathon including a day-long Festival of Running that featured the mascot race, a fun run for Cardiff University students and a family fun run. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The students’ fun run, which also featured Dylan, saw competitors complete a 2.4km route that took in the Civic Centre, Alexandra Gardens and North Road. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The half marathon itself takes place the following day on Sunday 2 October with large numbers of staff and students either running as part of the University’s #TeamCardiff or volunteering to support the event. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

#TeamCardiff runners have pledged to raise funds for the University’s cancer research or dementia and mental health research. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Meanwhile, physiotherapists from our School of Healthcare Sciences will be on hand after the race to offer a relaxing massage to weary runners. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
